Participants of the conference will have the opportunity to partake in optional activities at their own expense. Some of the optional activities include:

This Latin bar and club has been dubbed the best in Miami. For an evening full of live music and good eats, we invite you to join us at one of the best cultural clubs Miami has to offer. This will be an opportunity to meet with AADS graduate students, faculty, and fellow conference participants outside of FIU. Hoy Como Ayer will have a cover charge of approximately $20. We will pick you up from the Comfort Suites @ 9:30pm.
Saturday, February 14, 2015 – 1:30pm – 5:00pm
Fee: $36
This will include private transportation to three major historical sites of Miami. We will explore Little Haiti, Little Havana, and Black Coconut Grove on this 3.5 hour tour, led by notable Miami historian and professor. -Gambian 50th Independence Celebration
Saturday, February 14, 2015 - 8pm - 2am
Fee: $25
Join us in celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Gambia's independence. This cultural night will be hosted by the Florida Gambian Association and held on FIU's campus. It will include Dinner, Cultural Masquerade Dances, Arts & Craft Exhibits, Traditional Foods & Drinks, and Cultural Music.
