Khary Pestaina


Khary is an award-winning, veteran educator based in S FL. Grounded in African American and African diaspora history, he is an activist in the cultural development of his community. A member of several scholarly societies including ASALH, OAH, AHA & AAIHS, Khary is currently pursuing a PhD in Atlantic History at Florida International University where his work centers around the Unsettled Questions of Race, Ethnicity and Identity in the 20th & 21st century Americas. He is enrolled in the combined MA in AADS en route to a PhD in History program, and earned his MA in AADS in the summer of 2018.
