Dr. Hilary Jones was recently awarded the U.S. Scholar Fulbright Award for the Africa Regional Research Program in Senegal. The award will allow her to conduct fieldwork in Senegal for her book manuscript, “From Senegal to the French Antilles: West Africa and the Making of the French Atlantic World.” This was in addition to the two prestigious Fellowships she received in the spring. Dr. Danielle Clealand's book The Power of Race in Cuba: Racial Ideology and Black Consciousness During the Revolution (Oxford University Press, 2017) has won another award! The book recently earned The W.E.B. DuBois Distinguished Book Award from the National Conference of Black Political Scientists.
