Combined MA in AADS/PhD in GSS Graduate Student Abby Gondek to Participate in Summer Institute
AADS Graduate Student Abby Gondek, who is enrolled in the combined MA in AADS/ Ph.D. in Global and Sociocultural Studies (GSS), has been selected to participate in the 2016 Summer Institute: “Towards a Non-Eurocentric Academia: Border Thinking and Decoloniality from Asia to Africa and from Europe to the Americas.”

AADS Faculty Hilary Jones Co-organized JWAH Conference
As Associate Editor of JWAH (Journal of West African History), Hilary Jones is one of the organizers of the upcoming launch conference to celebrate the publication of the first three issues of the journal. The conference will interrogate the state of the field and examine critical issues facing the region of West Africa today. Our keynote speakers and panelists will address topics such as women, gender and sexuality in African societies, security and the threat of terrorism in the region.
