Following the initiative of, and the already existing relationship between the UASB’s Study Area of Estudios Culturales Latinoamericanos and FIU’s African & African Diaspora Studies Program (AADS), the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar and FIU signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop high quality programs and to contribute to the academic needs of both institutions. This MOU will enter in effect on July 1, 2014.
Both universities aspire to develop joint activities, including the exchange of faculty and students. They will also create initiatives in the field of research, publication and collaboration in programs, courses and seminars in cultural studies and African diaspora. The MOU should also be of interest to any study area or academic unit of both institutions.
