Dr. Andrea Queeley, AADS core faculty member, was invited to speak at Indiana University on April 15th, 2013, 4PM by the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Minority Languages and Cultures Program. Her talk, "Soul Train Unbound: Rethinking the Current(s) of Diasporic Space and the Ethnographic Encounter", was part of their 2012-2013 theme Rethinking Popular Cultures.
Dr. Queeley was also invited by the Anthropology Department of the University of Pennsylvania to talk for their working conference "Disasters and Their Aftermaths" on April 19th, 2013. Her lecture entitled "Reflections on Disaster...Will There Be Fire Next Time?" will be part of the session “Natural" Disasters and the Reproduction of Inequalities. Her lecture is based on the work she did in New Orleans.
