ANWS Student Releases a New Hip Hop Album.

In January 2007, ANWS MA student, Rodly Madeus, cofounder of a Creole Hip Hop group, Sky'z Da limit, released his second album titled "AfrikAyiti". The album has been described as a champion of Africanism in the Haitian community. According to music writer Bleky Seide of Teledjol News Network, the artistes “challenged the Haitian community to view themselves as Africans/African descendants and not just as Haitians. The beat has a lot of African elements as they used some samples of African chants from Congo”. Mr. Madeus and his colleagues pour out their soul as they tackle many topics such as life, love, the mediocrity in their beloved country - Haiti - in hot, flowing lyrics. The group, which is based in South Florida, provides a deep analysis of the contemporary condition of Haiti in perfectly syncopated rhyme of Haitian Creole.

Mr. Madeus is currently on leave from the program.
