Past Fellow

 

Dr. Jean-Germain Gros was a research fellow in African-New World Studies during Spring 07. He has been an Associate Professor of Political Science at University of Missouri, St Louis, since 1994. His research interest includes Comparative Politics, International Relations and Political Economy, African Politics, Caribbean Politics (Haiti), Health Policy, Globalization, Democracy and Development. He is the author of several articles in major periodicals. He has also edited two books, Cameroon:Politics and Society in Critical Perspectives (Rowman and Littlefield, 2003) and Democratization in Late Twentieth-Century Africa: Coping with Uncertainty (Westport, CT:  Greenwood  Press, 1998).

During his tenure as research fellow in African-New World Studies program, he completed a manuscript on State and Underdevelopment in Haiti, and facilitated an international conference on the Reform of Haitian Constitution, hosted by ANWS.
